Mass Effect 3 Rebellion Pack
Sony of Hong Kong posted details about a Mass Effect 3 and it got picked up by gaming news websites, including Kotaku. The description is as follows:
"The Rebellion Multiplayer Expansion opens two new fronts against the Reapers: Firebase Jade's jungle reservoir and Firebase Goddess on Thessia. In-game reinforcement packs now include three new weapons as well as equipment, consumables, and six new classes: Quarian Engineer and Infiltrator, Vorcha Soldier and Sentinel, Phoenix Adept and Vanguard. The battle continues – hold the line!"
Operation Silencer did mention training vorchas since they eager to get into the battle. Also, this post by Chris Priestly confirms the existence of the DLC with no release date.
And eventually, we got the official announcement!
Like the Resurgence Pack, this adds more content for the mulitplayer mode of Mass Effect 3. More characters, weapons, maps and a new objective!
The vorcha will join the war effort as Soldiers and Sentinels. Given their violent nature, they make excellent ground troopers and frontliners. Although the quarians are already in the war effort, it's time for the males to step up and show the military might of Flotilla! The so-called Phoenix character are actually ex-Cerberus operatives that defected to Alliance and have joined the war effort against the reapers. They really resemble Randall Enzo (helmeted) from the Mass Effect: Infiltrator mobile game.
Rebellion introduces Firebase Jade, a forested area in the salarian homeworld; and Firebase Goddess, located within a metropolitan area of Thessia.
Time to get whippin'!
We got a new assault rifle, sniper rifle and shotgun this time around! The Cerberus Harrier is a modified Mattock that allows full automatic burst at the cost of damage. This is the same rifle that Randall Ezno used during Mass Effect: Infiltrator. The new shotgun is the Reegar Carbine, another weapon based off the arc projector and is named after the Quarian Reegar Family of marines. The Krysae Sniper Rifle is an antimatter rifle which has the unique feature of an automatic adjusting scope for close range attacks and packs explosive rounds. I think this is going to be a heavy weapon to lug around!
Ex-Cerberus going against his former comrades!
You know those objectives that happens on waves 3, 6 and 10? Aside from hacking, activating points and killing key targets, we'll also perform priority package pickups and take it back to the designated extraction zone! I heard in the forums that this was accidentally implemented and some players were able to try it (albeit with bugs).
New gear slot
A fourth slot opens up in the equipment and it will feature a persistent gameplay bonus that won't be used after a match! I wonder what this is? Credit or EXP boosters? Stat boosters? Let's find out soon!
Enjoy this trailer!
